Trekking in the Izta-Popo National Park

We will pick you up at 9 am from your hotel in Cholula and travel to the Izta-Popo Zoquiapan National Park via minibus, stopping at the La Joyita car park where our hiking begins.

The trail starts at an altitude of 3,900 meters and follows the portillos route, a 4-kilometre path featuring snowy landscapes, coniferous forests, and arid areas. Wildlife sightings may include coatis, deer, coyotes and badgers.

Along the hike, witness the stunning Iztaccihuatl and Popocatépetl volcanoes. Learn about the legend that connects these natural landmarks.

After four hours of exploring the national park, we will return to the starting point and then head back to the hotels in Cholula, arriving around 5 pm.
